German ghostrider crashes at 140km/h!

Video Description:
This German/Russian wannabe ghostrider crashes when he underestimates his own speed and the distance to the front car.
The amazing part about it is that he stands up, crosses the busy road and goes back to his bike. Even though the bike is totaled, he has only minor injuries (concussion & shoulder muscle rupture).
Take a look at his protective bike dress and let it be a lesson...
I don't wanna know what would have happened if he hadn't worn it - still pretty amazing.
Btw, in the end he says he is still driving this crazy until today. I'm surprised he hasn't earned a Darwin award yet...

btw hes lucky cause if you watch at the speed closely he was going 240-250kmph but then when he hit the car it was 140kmph.

I'm not a bike enthusiast so i'm just asking, what do they mean when they say that bike is totaled, yes its damaged but still in shape, it looks like $1000 worth of damage at most.

its a ducati so its one of the most expensive bikes out. In most places for a vehicle to be totaled the damage must exceed 75 or 80% (i think) of the vehicles total value before the crash. That bike was worth around $20,000 USD new. at least they got it on tape!

I know how the vehicle being totaled means, my car was rear ended and totaled but i drove it around for 4 weeks till i got a new one. i just don't get how the bike is totaled while its still in shape,
